While we don’t know of anyone who has put multiple racing-style iSUPs to the test with an All Star, let’s just say that we wouldn’t be surprised to hear that it comes out as one of the fastest on the market. This board isn’t build for comfort or stability — it’s made to get where you want to go faster than you want know you wanted to go there
One feature that seems a little odd is only having a grab handle on the center of the board and nowhere else. We’re used to seeing at least 1 or more on the nose or tail. We’ll give this a pass for 2 reasons. First, it’s such a small board that you really don’t need a second handle. Second, this is truly more a surfboard than SUP, so it shouldn’t be held to the same standard as other SUPS.
Unlike some other Starboard iSUPs, the Vision Inflatable doesn’t offer much in the way of design choice, but what you find here is the standard Starboard blue and white design that is fine for most people. If you’re that concerned about color schemes, other Starboard models have more options than you can imagine.
While Starboard generally give a choice of 1 of 4 construction options, the River Inflatables only have one available — the Deluxe Single Chamber. Essentially, it’s a single chamber inflation area on the inside but reinforced rails that use a heat process on their seams versus the traditional glue in addition to drop stitching.
If you’ve been around the iSUP world for any length of time, it should come as no surprise that a number of paddleboarders use their board for activities other than simply going from point A to point B. Of those, yoga is by far one of the most popular and more than a few companies have designed boards specifically for that purpose.
Have you ever wondered what would happen if an iSUP and yoga mat loved each other very much? Besides probably being the last thing you thought you’d read today, this is pretty much exactly how you would explain the Starboard Tiki Mat Inflatable.
Remember that as we write about this, we’re talking of the performance from the perspective of a younger, lighter person since these would not be good iSUPs for the average adult. That being said, both boards are slightly wide considering their length which spells out a more stable ride for anyone who might be on board, including any passengers that might have hitched a ride.
The iGO gives you far more choices than you might have ever expected. That in mind, this review is going to be quite a bit different from what we normally do since different size board are obviously going to have different speeds, stability and other features.
In the world of iSUPs, most board come in somewhere between 9 and 12 feet. Occasionally, you might get something up to 14 feet, but sometimes the stars all align and you end up and with absolute behemoth like the Team Inflatable that comes in 3 sizes with the largest being longer than 18 feet long. That’s a whole lot of board!
It’s safe to say that a lot of paddleboarders love the watersports. And people who tend to love watersports tend to like more than just 1 type of activity. That’s why iSUPs that are multi-purpose end up doing so well, such as yoga or fishing iSUPs.
